Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc was not pleased with his team’s performance at the Belgian Grand Prix. Leclerc finished in P4 but was later promoted to third place due to George Russell‘s disqualification at Spa-Francorchamps.

Ferrari was a strong force during the start of the season, with two race victories to their name. But the team’s upgrades thereafter have been incompetent, jeopardizing their position in the world championship race.

Charles Leclerc has thus given his opinion on the team’s shortfalls this season. The Monegasque driver has called for a thorough analysis of the upgrades brought by the team to the SF-24 to tailor fit their needs on track.

We’ve had four races where we’re going extreme setups from extreme setups. And for me, it was just impossible to get to quali and to know where the limit of the car was. The last two races, we focused again on maximising the results, and I think we did, but just not fast enough. So that’s where we really need to focus and to do a step for the second half if we want to have any better results.
Charles Leclerc told the media including RacingNews365

Leclerc has failed to show competitiveness on track since his win at Monaco this year. He will now hope to work with the team during the summer break in order to bounce back at Zandvoort in August.

Charles Leclerc claims Ferrari was fourth fastest at Belgian GP

Charles Leclerc was pleased with the SF-24’s ability to keep Red Bull and McLaren behind during the race at Spa-Francorchamps. However, the 26-year-old was dissatisfied with the pace of Ferrari in general as he failed to win the race, starting in the pole position.

It's very simple what happened – we were just not fast enough. I felt like we were the fourth fastest car today. McLaren and Red Bull was expected. Mercedes was faster than expected. We did a good job to keep Max and Lando [Norris, in fifth and sixth adrift of Leclerc] behind at the end, but fourth was the best we hoped for today.

Leclerc claimed that Mercedes held the element of surprise at the Belgian GP, performing brilliantly against Red Bull and McLaren. The Silver Arrows were applauded greatly for George Russell‘s efforts, only to be disqualified due to a weight non-conformity.

Charles Leclerc ultimately concluded that the SF-24’s pace was just not enough to battle for the top spots in Belgium. The Dutch Grand Prix in August will hence be a stern test for Ferrari and its pace on track.
