Ferrari had started the 2024 season off in a great fashion after winning two races. However, the Italian constructor started losing performance mid-way and is now lacking. Maranello will have to work hard on their form to manage a comeback in the latter half of the season. Charles Leclerc commented on the slump and put forth a bizarre point.
Ferrari is a team with one of the greatest legacy in the pinnacle of motorsport. However, this meant that the team would be examined under a microscope during failing performances. Charles Leclerc hinted at this fact and commented on it. Leclerc believed that due to this reason, Maranello always created more mess than any other team on the grid.
The fact that we are Ferrari in general, whenever something happens at Ferrari, it always creates more of a mess than in any other teams.Charles Leclerc told motorsport.com
The team has continued to attempt to score a comeback in performance since the beginning of the issues. Leclerc believed that Ferrari needed to be good during such situations and moments. Regardless, Scuderia will have to focus on themselves and learn positively from the issues. Additionally, the Monegasque hoped for such issues to not creep up again in the coming races.
And this is where we need to be good, that whenever we are in those moments, we just focus on ourselves, try to take the noise away, learn from it and use it positively. But I hope that we don't have too many of them.Charles Leclerc added
Charles Leclerc claimed he has ‘200% faith’ in Fred Vasseur’s leadership
Fred Vasseur has led Ferrari to great results since he joined the team in the previous season. However, Maranello’s recent negative headline came after Enrico Cardille left Ferrari to join Aston Martin. Regardless, Charles Leclerc reassured that he had an unwavering faith in Vasseur. Additionally, the Monegasque believed that the team principal would manage the situation in the best way possible.
On that particular subject, I always had 200% confidence and trust in what Fred does, Obviously Enrico left the team now. I know also that Fred won't stay [interim] technical director for a very, very long time, and in the meantime, I fully trust Fred to manage the situation in the best possible way.Charles Leclerc noted
Ferrari will have to continue to work extremely hard on their form to fend off against the in-form Mercedes. The 2024 season has witnessed a great comeback from multiple teams in performance as the competition continues to tighten. The ground-effect era has never been any closer than this for Red Bull.
