Ferrari had scored an extremely impressive start to the 2024 season. The team scored two wins against Red Bull’s dominant campaign. However, the Scuderia is currently under a massive performance slump amidst some ongoing problems. Regardless, Charles Leclerc believes that the team will soon join the competition once again for the race victories.
Charles Leclerc scored the highly coveted Monaco GP race victory and became the only Monegasque driver to win on home soil. However, multiple fans further berated the 26-year-old after witnessing his failing performances following the victory. Regardless, Leclerc noted that he was ‘confident’ about Ferrari’s chances to soon fight for the race victories.
I’m confident that if we do the steps that we are expecting to do soon, then we'll be fighting for race victories.Charles Leclerc said, as reported by racingnews365.com.
Ferrari is losing out on great results by being short of a few tenths here and there. However, those minor differences made a huge difference in results. Hence, Leclerc further added that once the issues are worked over, the team wouldn’t face such difficulties. Maranello needs to optimize the package to once again return to their winning ways.
We are only speaking about two or three-tenths that today makes a huge difference. But when you put everything back into context, especially with the issues we are facing now, I am confident that once we don't have those issues anymore and that we optimise our package, those two or three-tenths are back in the car.Charles Leclerc noted.
Charles Leclerc claims there’s ‘still work to do’ despite working ‘very hard’
Ferrari has continued to bring in multiple upgrades to the SF-24 over the past few race weekends. Regardless, all the upgrades have been in vain as the Monegasque faced early elimination from qualifying sessions multiple times. Maranello still hasn’t given up and is hoping to improve performance before the mid-season break.
Leclerc highlighted that the team needed to put consistent efforts in the right window. However, the team was still facing issues in performing well at the right time. Hence, the Monegasque didn’t hesitate to accept that there was still work to do in the chassis despite already working very hard on improvement.
We just need to find them and to put consistently the car in the right window, But in the last two races, we've been trying to do that. We have been working very, very hard but there's still some work to do for sure.Charles Leclerc concluded.
The Italian constructor has lost performance and is extremely close to being ousted from the runner-up spot. McLaren has come up as the best-performing constructor in the 2024 season. Hence, the coming few race weekends will be extremely crucial for Ferrari in regard to their position in the championship.
