Ferrari driver, Charles Leclerc has conveyed his frustration after a disappointing run for the team over the past few races. The Maranello-based outfit has shown a declining trend in their performances despite starting the season on a competent note.

Charles Leclerc has been a tireless performer since joining the Reds in 2019 but has not been the subject of major successes with the team. However, at the start of this campaign, the Italian outfit appeared to be one of the most competent teams on the grid, battling closely with the likes of Red Bull and McLaren.

But to everyone’s surprise, the team that once appeared to be a challenger for the title now stands 71 points adrift of the leader, Red Bull. Leclerc has thereafter deemed Ferrari’s poor run of form a nightmare after a frustrating British Grand Prix.

It's very hard, I don't really know how else to explain it. But it's been four races that it's been worse than a nightmare. I hope we can come back soon.

Charles Leclerc has fallen short of words upon being asked of the current extent of issues at Ferrari. The upcoming races will determine a big chunk of the Maranello-based outfit’s fate in the championship as they look to perform better at Budapest and Spa.

Carlos Sainz claims Ferrari lost progress by going back on their upgrades

While Leclerc has cut out as a frustrated figure, Carlos Sainz has also recently talked about the decline in form, while suggesting the probable reason for it. Sainz has claimed that a decision to revert back to the car’s initial iteration from Imola has backfired on all fronts for the Maranello-based outfit.

It is clearly not good enough. We have basically the same car as in Imola and since Imola everyone has upgraded, probably added two tenths to the car and we have had to revert. We have lost two or three months of performance gain in the wind tunnel or performance we could have added in these three months, so clearly we haven't taken the right calls recently.

Ferrari made a decision to revert back to their Imola-spec to make the SF-24 better around Silverstone after an unsuccessful run with a revamped floor in Barcelona. But after struggling with newer issues on Sunday, Sainz has claimed that the decision to drop upgrades was obviously a wrong call on the team’s behalf.

Ferrari currently stands second in the driver’s championship and is being chased rapidly by the likes of McLaren, who now trail by a mere seven points. The Italian-outfit will now have to take it upon themselves to work hard in order to find a binding solution to their issues if they wish to improve their performance on track over McLaren and Red Bull.
