The entire paddock and the Italian crowd broke into massive celebrations after Charles Leclerc‘s victory at the Italian GP. Ferrari’s race win in front of the home crowd further added to the specialty of the occasion. Hence, Leclerc gave an interview after the race and was applauded by Pierre Gasly. During this, the Frenchman revealed the hilarious nickname he usually calls the Monegasque by.

Charles Leclerc has maintained a good friendship with Pierre Gasly in his career in Formula 1. The Frenchman is seldom seen fighting with Leclerc either on-track or off-track. As a result, Gasly intervened in Leclerc’s interview and congratulated him on the race win. The 28-year-old claimed he was ‘happy’ for the 26-year-old and called him ‘my chick.’

Following this, Leclerc shared his response to everyone, live on air about the nickname. The 26-year-old initially laughed at the entire ordeal. Subsequently, he noted that it was an ‘unfortunate’ situation albeit a hilarious one. Additionally, the race winner claimed that this was the name that Gasly usually referred to him with.

Hence, Charles Leclerc labeled the victory as a ‘big surprise.’ Additionally, Leclerc pointed out that Maranello pushed Woking to commit a mistake in the strategy and concluded a good job.

It was a very big surprise. McLaren was faster on paper, and we pushed them into a mistake on strategy although we didn't have the fastest car, but we did a good job.
