Charles Leclerc failed to amass any notable results in the 2025 season with Ferrari. However, not everything went poorly for Leclerc, as he achieved multiple personal milestones in his life. The Monegasque proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Alexandra Saint Mleux, and the two will tie the knot soon. Now, the 28-year-old and his fiancée are planning a special trip to the coldest place on Earth.
Charles Leclerc suffered from a lot of performance struggles in the 2025 season. However, he still managed to outscore his highly-achieving teammate Lewis Hamilton in the latter’s debut year. Leclerc is still hopeful about the Ferrari dream and has laid out his ambitions to achieve success under the new regulations in 2026. But first, he will need a recharge, and his trip to Antarctica will surely provide him with a once-in-a-lifetime experience and help him forget all his woes this year.
In a recent appearance with UniCredit, Charles Leclerc opened up on the very special trip he is planning with his now fiancée, Alexandra Saint Mleux. Leclerc revealed that he was going to Antarctica, as it was something that would surely recharge his batteries. However, even one of the greatest drivers in Formula 1 will need intense training and preparation to thrive at the coldest desert in the world.
Regardless, Charles Leclerc is looking forward to his trip with Alexandra Saint Mleux. Now that the two are bound to get married soon, the trip will surely be even more exciting. The Monegasque noted that he was looking forward to getting more insight into what it is like in Antarctica and witnessing firsthand the feeling of living in such a cold atmosphere.
So I’m doing a very, very special trip, I’m going to Antarctica. So, that’s going to be one way of recharging the batteries. Obviously, there will be a lot of training there, but not only to learn more about that very special place in the world and various different things that I’m really looking forward to understanding a bit more and to get more insight into what it’s like on site.

Certainly, Charles Leclerc will have to work extremely hard with Ferrari to achieve success with the team from the beginning of the new regulations in 2026. The team has suffered from multiple issues in the ground-effect era. As such, Leclerc is aware of the fact that he will have to spend extended time at the Maranello factory to prepare for the massive challenge coming ahead for the Italian squad.

Charles Leclerc reckoned that he was looking forward to the trip to Antarctica, but he also had to not lose sight of what was important in Formula 1. He accepted that he will have to do a lot of preparation in order to get ready for the 2026 season and beyond. The Monegasque is aware that Ferrari’s performance in the 2026 season could be make or break for the team’s direct success for the remainder of the regulations.
So we’re looking forward to that. And then obviously lots of preparation as soon as I’m back in Maranello for the new year. Lots of simulator and work in order to get ready for the season ahead.
