We all want Checo [Sergio Perez] to realise the potential that he did in the first four or five races, and we know he's capable of that and that's why we took up the option early on him for next year to try and settle him.
Christian Horner told SkySportsF1.

Horner stated Perez’s recent struggling phase in races had put him in a bit of confusion. The 51-year-old hoped that recent improvement will show that Checo is starting to recover and get back on track. He mentioned that the team is working very hard and supporting Perez and Helmut to bounce back from the challenges. Red Bull and Horner are desperate to bring back the Mexican’s performance because it is very crucial for the team.

I think he's been in a bit of a headspin the last the last few races, but hopefully today were the signs that he's coming out of that - and the team are working very hard with him to support him and make sure that he does re-find his form, because we desperately need it.

Christian Horner claims sharing open relationship with Sergio Perez

Christian Horner mentioned that he and Sergio Perez have a very honest and open relationship. The 51-year-old mentioned, Perez was at his house and they discussed some things about his situation. He asked Perez if there was something specific bothering him or if there was another issue affecting his performance. The Mexican stated that he felt he was just overthinking things too much. He admitted that he might be making things more complicated in his mind than they actually are.

We have a really open relationship,"I sat down with him in the kitchen at my house and said 'come on, was it was going on? Is it something, is there something else is it?' And he was like 'no, I think I'm just overthinking things a bit too much'.
Christian Horner explained.

Horner believed Perez will benefit from focusing solely on his own performance rather than his teammate or other drivers. The 51-year-old reckoned, by not worrying about the other side of the garage, Perez can concentrate better on improving his own driving. Horner hoped that this approach will help Checo stay more focused and less distracted. This will lead him to perform better and achieve expected results.

I think almost ignoring what's going on on the other side of the garage will do him a favour, which is the approach that he's taking now, just focusing on his own performance.
Christian Horner added.

Certainly, Christian Horner desires for Perez’s comeback because it will not only benefit him but also the team. Checo had shown an incredible performance in practice sessions ahead of the Hungarian GP. Fans hope to see him achieve pole or near to it on Saturday’s qualifying and a great race kn Sunday.
