Red Bull’s decision to switch to Honda power units in 2019 turned out to be one of the best decisions for the team. Milton Keynes achieved monumental success under the Japanese giant’s engines. However, the team has already ditched Honda for 2026 onwards and declared a technical partnership with Ford. Christian Horner reminisced over the time the two entities raced together and put forth confidence for Honda’s final year with the team.

Christian Horner pointed towards the 2025 season being the final year for the Honda-Red Bull partnership in Formula 1. The Briton recalled how seven years ago people doubted the team’s decision to switch the power unit suppliers. Horner cited the 2023 season as the highest point of Milton Keynes alongside Honda in the sport and labeled the switch in engines as ‘absolutely’ the right call back then.

2025 marks the final year of the Honda-Red Bull partnership in Formula 1. Seven years ago, when we announced our switch from [our] former supplier to Honda power units, some people cast doubts on our decision. However, over the years we’ve been proven with many historic records – such as the 21 wins out of 22 races in 2023 – that it was absolutely the right call.

As Red Bull heads into the final season with Honda in Formula 1, Horner reckoned that the team would leave no stone unturned to end it on a high. Thus, the two giants will have to continue to work hard on winning more races and ultimately winning the championship. Milton Keynes has a lot of issues to deal with in order to deem a better start to the upcoming season.

Last year, in the Formula One World Championship, Max Verstappen achieved the remarkable feat of winning the Drivers’ Title for the fourth consecutive season. His determination to secure victory, even in situations that were far from favorable, was truly inspiring. Races have the power to emotionally move people.

Red Bull has the major task of improving performance amidst the massive personnel change within the team. Liam Lawson will not only deem his first ever full-season in Formula 1 but also go up against Verstappen in the coming season. Hence, the upcoming season might be hectic but interesting and exciting for the fans.
