Christian Horner has remained in the headlines despite his F1 exit many months ago. The Briton was linked to a return to the paddock in a much bigger role than simply a team principal. Alpine was reportedly the top pick for Horner if he were to return. However, now, the 52-year-old has opened up on the conditions that need to be fulfilled if he wants to return to the pinnacle of motorsport.

Christian Horner served Red Bull loyally for over two decades and achieved six constructors’ championships and eight drivers’ titles with the team. As such, Horner has a strong enough resume to join any team that he wants. Moreover, the 52-year-old is looking to purchase Otro Capital’s stake in Alpine.

Now, Christian Horner has revealed the conditions that needed to be met in order to return to leading a team in Formula 1. Horner noted that he had finished his shift in the sport and achieved everything he wanted to. However, if he had to come back to the sport, the role needed to be different than what he did over the 21 years he did at Red Bull.

I’ve done my shift, For me, if I were to come back, it would be in a slightly different role for the one that I performed over the last 21 years or so.

Further, Christian Horner highlighted that he would consider his options about returning to the sport. Horner did not fail to accept how the interest in Formula 1 was peaking sky-high. Moreover, the 52-year-old hinted that some fantastic people were ready to invest in his role in Formula 1 in the near future. As such, the Englishman definitely does not have a lack of funds to join any team on the grid.

We’ll see. The interest in the sport is sky high. There are some fantastic people that want to invest in F1.

Christian Horner asserts ‘no rush’ about returning to Formula 1

The beginning of the 2026 season is right around the corner. However, Christian Horner has not confirmed his return to the grid in the coming season. As such, Horner certainly isn’t returning anytime soon. The 52-year-old, who claimed that he had unfinished business in Formula 1, has now declared that he is in no rush to confirm his situation anytime soon.

Christian Horner reckoned that he had no rush to return to Formula 1. He insisted that if his career ended following his exit from Red Bull, he was delighted with the incredible run. Moreover, Horner pointed out that he would only return with a team that provided him an exciting opportunity and came up with a project that was able to ultimately win.

I’m in no rush, If my career stops at the end of my time at Red Bull, I’ve had an incredible run. I’d only come back for something that was genuinely exciting and and something that could ultimately win.

Christian Horner is definitely among one of the greatest team principals witnessed in the history of Formula 1. Though Horner had a problematic personal life, his work ethic was impressive, and he gave it his all for Red Bull over the years. The Briton will join a team on the grid and lead it to success in the near future. For now, the 52-year-old is assessing his options and taking his sweet time before returning to the sport.
