Red Bull Team Principal, Christian Horner has backed his team to be in the very best form, and to continue delivering championship-winning performances in a four-way fight for the 2024 title. Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes are the four teams currently in battle for the championship this year.
The Milton-Keynes-based team leads the championship after winning seven races this campaign but faces stiff competition from McLaren and Ferrari, who have won the other events, respectively. The two teams have been regulars among the podium places, which has put them in the title picture.
Mercedes has also emerged as a competent side after a poor start to the season, which has piled further pressure on Red Bull, who have faced issues around certain circuits and conditions. Christian Horner, however, has backed his team to stay on their title-winning spree.
We're having to fight really hard for wins at the moment, and have to be on top of our game as a team - and that is Formula 1 how it should be.Christian Horner via RacingNews365
Christian Horner went on to say that the current fight for the title is how F1 should be and that 2023 was a miraculous but one-off for Red Bull. Horner has demanded the Milton-Keynes outfit to be at the top of their game constantly to have a real chance of amassing the 2024 world championship.
Andrea Stella applauds Red Bull while being impressed with McLaren’s performances
McLaren Team Principal, Andrea Stella has praised McLaren for major improvements in performance as compared to a year ago. Stella has also applauded Red Bull for their rigorous persistence in winning races ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix.
I think in Canada, the difference in qualifying was 20 milliseconds, here it was again a few milliseconds and very similar in the race. That's a great achievement for McLaren, if we think how this interview would have been 12 months ago, so now we talk about being on par with Red Bull – but we want to keep improving the car.Andrea Stella via Formula1
Andrea Stella has said that both McLaren and Red Bull are very close in terms of performance, which is in itself a big achievement for the papayas, who were nowhere near the Milton-Keynes outfit last season. Stella also asserted that McLaren needs to keep working efficiently to bridge the slight gaps in their performance while also managing their strategies on race days.
The Woking-based outfit currently stands third in the championship with 237 points after ten races. The papayas, however, trail the leaders Red Bull by 93 points. The upcoming Austrian GP will be a great opportunity for McLaren to further close down the gap.
