In the last couple of races Red Bull has failed to replicate its dominance on the F1 grid. As rival teams have started to catch up with Milton Keynes. However, Team Principal Christian Horner seemed to be content after winning two out of last three races.

Horner explained how winning recent race made him feel satisfied, especially after facing difficult ‘choppy water’ challenges. The last few races have exposed a kerbs problem with the RB20. However, now the team is focused on improving performance in certain races later this year like Singapore.

There's a lot of focus on that to see if we can improve because we know the circuits later in the year, like Singapore and so on, it could be a factor.

The 50-year-old acknowledged how other teams like Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes have become very competitive at every race track. Despite winning six out of nine races this season, Horner understands the the importance of being ahead of these teams by performing extremely well. Previously, Christian Horner claimed that the recent competition was a result of inevitable convergence.

We really expect Ferrari and McLaren, certainly, and Mercedes came into that window [in Canada], to be competitive at every circuit. Despite the fact that we've won six out of the nine races [this season], we're going to have to be really at the top of our game to keep eking out a gap.

Christian Horner suggests Mercedes’ Canadian GP pace might be ‘one-off’

The 50-year-old mentioned that Mercedes has historically performed well on the race track like Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Canada which doesn’t have many fast corners. However, Horner also assumed the recent resurfacing of the track might have favourd the silver arrows.

Mercedes has always gone very well on green circuits, and there were no real high-speed corners.

Christian Horner desires to observe Mercedes performance in the upcoming races to confirm the recent success in Canada was a consistent improvement or it was just a ‘’one-time occurrence.’ As Red Bull had not faced a real threat from Brackley before the Montreal weekend.

So with the asphalt changes, it possibly played to their strengths. Let's see over the next two or three tracks, if it's really genuine form, or if it's a one off.

However, based on this situation if Mercedes continues to perform in such a way, Horner and his team will need to bring some improvements in their RB20 to solidify its advantage on the grid once again. Similarly, Mercedes fans would love to see the consistency in their performance and higher their rank in constructors championship.
