During the summer break it was confirmed that Sergio Perez will remain at Red Bull for the second half of the season. The Mexican was highly criticized by the performance he showed in the first half of the season. Despite this Red Bull was confident that Checo would regain his form and confidence once the break was over. However, he did not have the easiest Friday at the Dutch GP.
After Friday’s runs, the media’s eyes were on Sergio Perez as they expected him to perform well after the summer break. Christian Horner pointed out that people are quick to criticize Checo. But they forget the team is working very hard to help him find his best performance again. They believe that with more time, Perez can get back to his previous strong form and score points again. However, Red Bull’s slow pace led him finishing in 12th position on Friday.
You’re very quick to condemn Sergio. We’re trying our hardest to give him the chance to rediscover that form.Christian Horner said, as reported by SkySportsF1
Horner mentioned that Perez had to deal with a lot of pressure from not just the media but also through social media. When things aren’t going well for him, the criticism and negative comments quickly piles up. This adds even more pressure to him which ultimately affects his performance on track similar to what happened on Friday. Therefore, the pressure from everywhere made it harder for the Mexican to focus and perform well on track.
He has to cope with all the pressure from the media, the social media that piles in on the back of that.Christian Horner added.
Christian Horner claims Sergio Perez is capable of bouncing back from recent struggles

He’s a driver that’s capable of bouncing back, and we’re giving him our full support and want to see him respond.Christian Horner stated.
Therefore, Christian Horner and team are fully backing Perez and are confident that he can bounce back from this tough period and show everyone what he is capable of. Fans hope Checo stays confident and performs well on Saturday’s Qualifying sessions.
