In his last four races, Sergio Perez has failed to live up to Red Bull’s expectations with some underwhelming results. Checo has consistently failed to match teammate Max Verstappen. Many fans and critics on grid reckon that this could be due to bad luck for the Mexican driver, including Damon Hill.
Hill explained how bad timings and bad decision makings from the team is affecting Sergio Perez‘s performance. Moreover, the former F1 champion claimed that these problems weren’t just related to bad luck. Damon Hill reckoned the Mexican driver could indeed be unlucky sometimes but not always. The troubles are mainly because of not choosing the right moments to do things for Checo.
It's been bad decision making and bad timing. They can't all be bad luck, you can be unlucky a couple of times, but not all the time.Damon Hill said on SkySports F1 Podcast

The 63-year-old reckoned that it was important for Sergio Perez to receive full support from his team which can help him move his rank higher during races. Subsequently, this would allow the Mexican driver to help Red Bull in the constructors’ standings as the Austrian team faces stiff competition this season.
They need to give him all the support and make sure that they get him up the grid, because that is going to be so valuable to them, the constructors [championship], and also to Max.Damon Hill explained
Damon Hill hopes Red Bull keeps ‘rooting’ for Sergio Perez
Damon Hill insisted that decision making plays a major role in team to ensure that their drivers get a clear opportunity to stay ahead of others. In the case of Sergio Perez, the 63-year-old hoped that Milton Keynes continued to give him with all the support he needed to bounce back. So far, Team Principal Christian Horner has put faith in the Mexican driver.
Decision making maybe is part of it, making sure he gets a clear lap, and on the right time during qualifying.Damon Hill noted

However, The Briton also reckoned everyone in the team supports Checo and wants to make sure he performs at his best. Unfortunately, Sergio Perez hasn’t been able to achieve recently for reasons that team is unsure about. Nevertheless, Red Bull remains keen on assisting Checo it can benefit them in maintaining the position at the top in constructors championship.
Everyone rooting for Checo and making sure that he's able to give the best of what he's got, because he hasn't been able to do that for whatever reason.Damon Hill stated
Certainly, Milton Keynes must bounce back from the issues faced in past races with Checo. Fans of the 34-year-old would love to see him secure pole position for the first time this season, especially since he has already achieved a couple of podiums so far this season.
