Ex-Red Bull driver claims Daniel Ricciardo had the ‘opportunity’ to disclose F1 exit news before Singapore GP
David Coulthard revealed that Daniel Ricciardo was given the choice to reveal his departure at the Singapore GP, which he refused to.

Daniel Ricciardo faced an extremely disappointing end to his Formula 1 stint with RB. The Aussie driver was rumored to be ousted from the team after the Singapore GP without any official confirmation. Ricciardo was given a warm farewell by everyone in the paddock, despite no confirmation of his exit. Hence, amidst this, David Coulthard revealed that the 35-year-old was allowed to reveal the news.

However, the Aussie chose not to before the culmination of the Singapore GP by his own will. Even Coulthard was trying to find out the underlying reason behind this decision from the Honey Badger.
Coulthard further guessed the reasons for the decision from Ricciardo to be some sort of media masterstroke. The Aussie received a lot of sympathy and love from the fans following the official confirmation of his departure.
The two ‘great opportunities’ for Daniel Ricciardo to get ‘airtime’
The love for Daniel Ricciardo has grown immensely in Austin and Las Vegas after his increased attention towards the people of these regions. Hence, David Coulthard believed that these two venues were great opportunities for Ricciardo to gain a lot of airtime and make the entire weekend about him. On the contrary, the news of the Aussie getting ousted got ‘mixed’ with other news during the Singapore weekend.
The eight-time Grand Prix winner has yet to unveil his future ambitions after being ousted from Formula 1. Christian Horner had recently hinted at a Ricciardo return in the 2025 season. Regardless, the Australian must focus on his other goals in life after facing a disappointing situation at the pinnacle of motorsport.
