The British GP weekend was set to be full of rollercoasters as the dark clouds loomed over the track. This trend continued into qualifying which made the grid fall into a sense of havoc. However, these tire troubles took out Esteban Ocon, who was subsequently seen sharing anger-charged messages with a fellow Alpine colleague.

Rolling up to the British GP weekend, rumors emerged that Esteban Ocon might sign for Haas. Moreover, in a bid to save his F1 future from dwindling into the darkness, the Frenchman set his aims at attaining bragging rights within the team by pouncing over his teammate.

Subsequently, the 27-year-old was infuriated for being knocked out in Q1. He was then heard commenting on the Aston Martin‘s. Despite his anger, the Alpine engineer was observed calming the Frenchman down, he went to the FIA garage as Ocon was getting weighed.

Esteban Ocon lamented Alpine’s strategy

While this was not the first time the former race winner got knocked out in Q1. However, the weather and track conditions played a vital role in his inability to complete a lap and condemned the French team’s strategy.

The 27-year-old was heard criticizing his team for not getting him out on track when the track was in the optimal conditions.

Amazing, the only lap I had to attack was the lap where it was wet.
Esteban Ocon said over the radio as quoted by Secteur F1

Ocon began with a sarcastic response. He claimed that the track was not in the best conditions when he started his push-lap and the circuit was damp which did not give the soft tires any grip. He reasoned that this lack of grip and subpar timing resulted in him getting knocked out in Q1.

The 27-year-old would be hoping to move forward in the race tomorrow to add a few points, as he currently stands 17th in the driver’s standings. Moreover, his teammate Pierre Gasly would be starting two places behind him, which could help him have the upper hand if a strategic battle ensues in the race tomorrow.
