Red Bull has scored some highly dominant performances in the past with multiple drivers. Sebastian Vettel‘s championship streak from 2010 to 2013 is still one of the greatest performances ever from the team. Hence, amidst the ongoing season, Red Bull presented the RB8 from 2012 in an uncanny manner which upset the fans.

The team was preparing for the Houston show run amidst the ongoing struggles in the 2024 season. Red Bull decided to present Sebastian Vettel‘s 2012 double championship-winning RB8 chassis at the show run. However, the challenger was not wrapped in the usual red and blue depicting the team’s color.

Instead, the RB8 was covered with VCARB’s current chassis’ wrap. The chassis was donning the blue and white colors of the Italian constructor. As a result, this meant that the team was trying to manipulate a crucial part of history just for the sake of the satisfaction of sponsors. Hence, the fans have decided to berate them over this disappointing situation.

Fans were extremely dissatisfied with Red Bull painting RB8 with VCARB’s colors

In a recent tweet on X, multiple fans put forth their views over the unnecessary change to the chassis’ livery. One fan refused to believe that this change in livery was a real-life situation and called it a ‘f**king joke’. Additionally, another fan claimed that their favorite championship-winning chassis was ‘destroyed’ due to the new livery.

Apart from this, one fan noted that sponsors would make a team do anything as long as they benefitted. Meanwhile, another pointed out that changing the RB8’s livery was a ‘war crime’. Subsequently, a fan highlighted that changing the liveries on older chassis needed to be ‘banned’ by the teams and sport.

Red Bull has decided to showcase the RB8 chassis in VCARB’s colors to satisfy the sponsors of the team. Hence, the outfit is highly unlikely to budge on their decision and revert the livery to the old one. Regardless, the massive backlash from fans could possibly make the team reconsider their decisions.
