British Formula One engineer Adrian Newey is one of the most sought-after designers currently on the grid. Newey earlier announced that he would be parting ways with Red Bull at the end of the 2024 season after 18 glorious years with the team.

Adrian Newey has won 13 drivers’ championships and 12 constructors’ championships across three teams during a career spanning over 40 years in Formula 1. The 65-year-old designer has hence invited interest from numerous teams on the grid, with Ferrari and Aston Martin being the top prospects of them all.

Amongst other rumors, various speculations took rise towards the direction of Ferrari, claiming the Maranello-based outfit to have signed Newey for 2025. But recent reports suggest that Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna is reluctant to meet Newey’s salary demands and is concerned that the 65-year-old could change the way the Maranello-based outfit operates.

The resultant outcome now falls in favor of Aston Martin, who have been keen seeker of Adrian Newey’s abilities in the betterment of the team. But a concrete statement or verdict is yet to be yielded from Newey, who has assured the grid of an announcement regarding his future sometime around September.

Adrian Newey has shed light on duties in the paddock after announcing a step down from the role of Chief Technology Officer for Red Bull Racing. Additionally, the RB17 hypercar, designed by Newey, was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last week.

Adrian Newey was present at the races for Miami, Monaco and, as of recently, Silverstone with the Milton-Keynes outfit. Newey claimed that he was secondarily involved in the strategy execution of the team through the races while also conversing with the drivers on the paddock.

When I have been – so Miami and Monaco [and Silverstone] – then [it’s about] primarily talking to the drivers a little bit. Then a bit involved in strategy through the races. But it's also been [about] meeting customers – 17 clients and customers.

The 65-year-old was the brainchild behind the making of the most sought-after RB17 and has also clarified that his decision to leave the team was separate from the project. Newey concluded that the hypercar’s concept was completed in January 2024, months before his announcement, which entails a peaceful parting between the two entities.
