Ferrari reportedly willing to offer Adrian Newey “50% more” than his Red Bull salary and ‘more freedoms’

Tensions between the top figures at Red Bull continued even after the halt on Christian Horner‘s investigation saga. Adrian Newey has been suspected of leaving the Austrian constructor after the end of the 2024 season. However, there has been no final call on the team Newey would join after the culmination of this season. Ferrari still remains a highly talked about possibility for the Englishman.

Ferrari has reportedly expressed its interest in acquiring the aero-genius. The Italian constructor was ready to provide a ‘blank check’ to Adrian Newey to join Maranello. However, Newey had been loyal to Red Bull with no immediate plans to leave. Things have changed since, as it was rumored that the Englishman had declared his intention to leave Milton Keynes by the end of this season.

If Newey is available for grabs, sources claim that Ferrari is ready to pay 50% more and significant freedoms to the aero-genius within Maranello. However, the Briton has to be ready to join the team within a time period of 12 months. Adrian Newey’s involvement with Ferrari will ensure great dividends to the team by the regulation changes of 2026. Although, this could be difficult as Red Bull insists that the Briton has a contract with the team till at least the end of 2025.

Adrian Newey labels Ferrari as a ‘magic brand’ amidst Ferrari rumors

Ferrari has been a well-loved team on the Formula 1 grid ever since its inception with Formula 1. The Italian fans have a different level of love for the Italian constructor in the pinnacle of motorsport. Adrian Newey had previously labeled Ferrari as a ‘magic brand’. This meant that everyone on the grid was fascinated by Maranello and wished to join the team.

Ferrari is this magic brand that, in all honesty, probably everybody in motor racing is always fascinated by and tempted to join if they’re offered the opportunity.

Adrian Newey further opened up regarding the positives of Ferrari in the world of Formula 1. The 65-year-old claimed Maranello was an amazing brand and effectively the Italian nation’s team. Newey didn’t hesitate to point out the cons of joining the Italian constructor in F1. The Englishman claimed that if one fails to perform well, they are berated and torn apart by dedicated Italian fans.

It’s an amazing brand. It has all this mystique about it. It’s effectively the Italian national team, with all the pros and cons that come with that. The cons are that if you don’t do a great job, you are absolutely berated and torn apart. Of course, if you do a good job, then you’re a national hero. So that brings all its own pressures.

Hence, if Newey gets such a lucrative offer from Ferrari he would surely consider joining the constructor by the coming season. However, these talks are necessary only if Red Bull decides to let go of the aero-genius so easily. Milton Keynes would try their best to keep Newey working with them for as long as possible. Apart from this, the 65-year-old will also be approached by multiple other constructors soon.
