Ferrari has successfully created an impressive chassis for the 2024 season. The Italian constructor won two of the eight total races despite Red Bull’s dominant campaign. Hence, the team will likely take in multiple learnings from the SF-24 and implement them in the next challenger. Amidst the ongoing season, Ferrari’s team principal Fred Vasseur revealed that Maranello had already started working on the 2025 car.
Ferrari brought in multiple upgrades to their chassis during and before the Miami GP. These upgrades paid huge dividends to the team as Charles Leclerc won the Monaco GP. Fred Vasseur highlighted that part of the team was working on upgrading the SF-24 while the other half worked on the next chassis. The team principal had given a ‘go-ahead’ for the development of the 2025 season’s challenger.
Part of the team is working on the next updates that we will see during this season, another is already focused on next year's car. We have already given the go-ahead to the 2025 car.Fred Vasseur said, as reporrted by it.motorsport.com.

Additionally, Ferrari’s successful campaign in the 2024 season ensures a great baseline for the coming season. The team has proven to showcase great results under Vasseur’s leadership as the team closes in on Red Bull. The Frenchman highlighted that the upgrading result was the work of the team’s past six months. Vasseur claimed that the entire team worked hard and improved performance significantly.
What is happening is the result of work that comes from afar and which does not just concern me. In the last 6-7 months the whole team has worked well and has improved.Fred Vasseur added.
Fred Vasseur claims work has ‘started’ for the 2026 power unit for Ferrari
Ferrari wouldn’t hold back in developing the chassis now after picking the pace in 2024. The Italian constructor has come close to winning the championship after a very long time. Hence, Maranello will continue to work on multiple chassis at the same time to ensure maximum potential. Fred Vasseur claimed that the team had already set milestones to conquer for the 2026 regulation changes.

Vasseur pointed out that Ferrari had already started working on the power unit for the 2026 season. The regulation changes could showcase an extreme shift in the order of teams. However, the team will still need to hypothesize on a few concepts until F1 releases the full set of regulations. Hence, the regulation changes could provide the team with a great opportunity to win.
Furthermore, work has already started some time ago on the 2026 power unit, while as regards the chassis and aerodynamics we can hypothesize a few concepts and nothing more, given that there are no regulations yet.Fred Vasseur noted.
Ferrari’s current form could well easily help them trump Red Bull down the season. If the Austrian team fails to bring in positive in-season upgrades, Maranello will have a smooth win. The Italian team is looking promising of closing the window on the rival teams and continuing to build a big gap to McLaren behind.
