Scuderia Ferrari heads into the Belgian Grand Prix desperately needing fruitful results after unconvincing form in past races. Team principal Fred Vasseur has thus, taken the time to shed light on the Maranello-based outfit’s practice runs from Friday.

Ferrari was in decent form during the initial rounds of the 2024 season, emerging as an early contender for the title. But the Reds have endured a significant decline in form against the likes of Red Bull and McLaren since their win at Monaco.

Fred Vasseur showed concern in claiming that the SF-24 appeared to lose a significant amount of time along the straights at Spa. Vasseur then said that the persistent issue of bouncing is expected to reappear with changing wind speeds.

We are losing too much time on the straights. Everyone has experimented a lot and followed their own individual program, the results of the free practice are difficult to read. The bouncing can still reappear when the lap times drop or when the wind increases. 2 or 3 km/h are enough to make the oscillations start again.

The Maranello-based outfit’s issues with bouncing has been the main factor behind their noticable decline this campaign. The team will now hope to avoid this problematic phenomenon by twitching their upgrades in time for the upcoming qualifying session.

Ferrari has no magical solution against McLaren at Spa

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has had an unsatisfactory run since his win at Monaco this season. Moreover, he cut out as a dejected figure while describing his team’s performance against the dominant McLarens on Friday.

We're struggling to McLaren a little bit everywhere. We don’t have any magical solution but we will give it our best. It’s the last race before the holidays so I hope we can finish on a high.
Charles Leclerc told the media including RacingNews365

McLaren has been formidable this season, showing promising pace and prowess around every track. The Papayas topped the times in FP2 on Friday around Spa-Francorchamps, looking to attain pole position for the third consecutive race.

Charles Leclerc on the other hand, will try his best to be hopeful of the teams chances in the all-important qualifying. Leclerc must battle closely with McLaren and Red Bull to qualify on the front row for the first time in over six races this campaign.
