Ferrari have been on a declining run of form since their extravagant win in Monaco this year. In light of this, Mercedes driver George Russell has proclaimed his team to be ahead of the Maranello-based outfit on track.
Mercedes has emerged as a competent force in the past few races. The Silver Arrows scored a podium in Budapest, making it their fourth consecutive front-row finish this campaign. Moreover, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have both scored Grand Prix wins.
George Russell has thereafter gone on to acclaim praise for his team’s immense hard work in the past few weeks. The Silver Arrows have scored 241 points and are currently fourth in the constructors championship.
I think we are undoubtedly ahead of Ferrari. And Red Bull is not miles ahead either.George Russell via Motorsport-Total.com
Ferrari’s poor run of performances has caused them to fall to third in the championship. They will now hope to perform better in the upcoming races in order to bounce back in the title race this season.
Fred Vasseur claims small changes required for Ferrari in order to win
Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has shared his thoughts after a lackluster performance by the team in Budapest. Vasseur has talked of small steps as the way to go in order to minimize their performance shortfalls in the coming races.
We don’t have to overturn anything , we just have to make small steps here and there. Sometimes it’s harder to do that when you’re 5th and 6th, you feel like you’re miles away and you want to make big changes but that’s not how you’re going to catch up.Fred Vasseur via FormulaPassion
The Maranello-based outfit showed promising pace during practice and qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix. However, the team’s efforts failed to suffice during the race, as they merely finished P4 and P6 failing to improve on their grid starts.
Fred Vasseur has called for a slow, detailed analysis of the issues within Ferrari to catch up in time for the Belgium Grand Prix. The Reds require a massive result at Spa before the summer break in order to salvage the lost points in the ongoing this season.
