Former Austrian motorsports racer Gerhard Berger has shared his verdict on Red Bull’s dip in performances this season in Formula 1. The Milton Keynes-based outfit has now failed to win any of the last eight races and is currently second in the Constructors’ Championship.

Red Bull started the campaign looking to continue their dominance from the previous season. They won seven of the first ten races, which put them on course for another successful year. All has since gone downhill for the reigning champions, who have been regularly outpaced by McLaren and Ferrari.

Berger has deemed the departure of key personnel as the reason behind the team’s woes. He says that the instability caused by changing the structure of the squad has been difficult for Red Bull.

Now they have new leaders who have to prove they deserve the succession. In recent months, many engineers have left the team and this is another reason for weakening. If Max manages to win the world championship despite everything, I think Red Bull has enough time to reorganise.

The Milton-Keynes-based team is hopeful to regain some of their lost form at the upcoming race in Austin this weekend. A major chunk of their performance will now rather depend upon the internal harmony within the squad.

Former world champion pips Ferrari to challenge Red Bull in the remaining races of the season

Jenson Button has claimed that Red Bull will be unsuccessful in challenging McLaren in terms of pace until the end of the season. The Papayas have had a meteoric rise in their performances ever since the resumption after the summer break this year.

Jenson Button thinks that Ferrari stand a strong chance of beating Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship this year. He, however, stated that the Milton Keynes-based team will try their best to defend their title.

I really can’t in terms of any race until the end of the season out-scoring them but I can see Ferrari challenging Red Bull. I don’t think it will be every race they will be scoring more points but there’s every possibility Ferrari will beat Red Bull. There’s much more of a chance of Ferrari beating Red Bull than Red Bull beating McLaren.

Red Bull have won the Grand Prix in Austin for the past three years. The team’s chances will be different this time around as they look to fend off their rivals to make a return to the top step.
