Charles Leclerc has over the years become synonymous with the Ferrari brand. The Monegasque has been competing in F1 with them since 2019, while he’s become an out-and-out leader of the Ferrari F1 project, the brand’s President, John Elkann, has recently talked about the prospect of entrusting Leclerc with a Le Mans birth somewhere down the line.

Being the global and historic brand that Ferrari is, it competes in various motorsports categories all over the world. The Maranello-based outfit triumphed in the 2023 Le Mans event and is defending its crown at this year’s event.

Today, our current drivers are very strong. Drivers have demonstrated that they are capable of performing well in Formula 1 and Endurance. Charles already has a lot to do in Formula 1 and we must not distract him.

Elkann has made it quite clear that Ferrari is blessed with strong drivers across the various racing categories. Moreover, has stressed the fact that Charles Leclerc has already got a mighty task on his hands with leading Ferrari to the F1 world championship, and thus, he should not be made to lose focus by opening him up to the prospect of driving in Le Mans.

Charles Leclerc’s victory in Monaco ‘filled Ferrari with joy’

While the Ferrari President has played down the idea of Leclerc driving in Le Mans, he has also talked about the joy the 26-year-old brought to Ferrari in Monaco. The six-time Grand Prix winner won his home race in the Principality after several failed attempts.

Leclerc triumphed in the event by a margin of seven seconds over second-place Oscar Piastri.

This year, the victory at the Monaco Grand Prix with Charles Leclerc filled us with joy. Charles finally triumphed in his home Grand Prix in a weekend capped by Sainz's third place.
John Elkann said in the same interview

The 2024 F1 season has so far proved promising for Ferrari. The outfit is very much in the hunt for both the constructors as well as the drivers’ championship. However, to keep this scenario the same for the coming months, the whole team will have to work its socks off.

Despite the few setbacks of Red Bull, the outfit is still strong and McLaren is also steadily chasing down Ferrari with each passing Grand Prix. Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, the upcoming races are going to be absolute must-see events.
