Adrian Newey‘s team for the 2025 season has been a highly debated topic throughout this year. The aero-genius was believed to be taking a break from the sport after exiting Red Bull. However, Newey shocked the entire grid by striking a multi-year deal with Aston Martin from next season onwards, a deal Lawrence Stroll labeled a ‘bargain’ for the Formula 1 team.

Aston Martin is rumored to be paying Newey over $200 Million for his services. After the news was announced, Newey stated that joining the team was ‘natural’ for him. The Englishman is set to take his massive knowledge to the Silverstone team from the coming season onwards.

Delighted with the acquisition, Lawrence Stroll stated that acquiring Adrian Newey was a ‘bargain’ despite the huge figures being quoted by the press. Additionally, he highlighted that after working in this business for over 40 years, he was sure of this claim. Stroll also reassured that acquiring Newey was not an investment as he labeled the aero-genius a shareholder and a partner.

Multiple constructors on the grid attempted to add Adrian Newey in their lineups to ensure best results in the coming reasons. However, Aston Martin succeeded in acquiring Newey after Ferrari and Mercedes’ failed attempts.

Lawrence Stroll claimed that the Briton was the ‘best partner’ available for the company. He also called his contract ‘inexpensive’ when compared to the expertise the aero-genius will bring to the table.

He's the best partner I can bring into a company, we intend to be around here a very long time together. So it's relatively inexpensive for everything Adrian brings in the partnership we will have.

Adrian Newey’s race craft could enable Aston Martin to soar to great heights amidst the recent incessant struggles. The team could also witness a massive turnaround in their performance during the new regulations in 2026.
