Former world champion Sebastian Vettel has talked of racing alongside Mick Schumacher at the 2025 Race of Champions. Vettel has raced alongside the German’s father, Michael Schumacher, during his early days in Formula 1.

Sebastian Vettel was a constant support to Mick Schumacher during the latter’s stint in F1. He raced for the Haas F1 team in 2021 and 2022 but was later sacked due to a string of unimpressive performances.

F1 journalist claims Sauber boss Mattia Binotto has an interest in Mick Schumacher

Audi-owned Sauber appointed Mattia Binotto as their CTO and COO earlier this year. The former Ferrari boss has since been on the lookout to fill the remaining driver’s seat at Sauber for the 2025 season.

F1 journalist Felix Görner has thereafter claimed that Mick Schumacher is a likely prospect for Sauber next season. Mattia Binotto is reportedly confident in Schumacher’s abilities from the latter’s time at Ferrari Academy until 2022.

Binotto is now playing for time. He can do that because he has a very good joker in reserve in Mick Schumacher, whose strengths and weaknesses he knows very well from his time at the Ferrari Academy from 2019 to 2022.

F1 journalist Felix Görner told sport.de

Schumacher has been longing to make a return to Formula 1 since last season. Currently a reserve driver for Mercedes, the German may finally be offered a second chance under the leadership of Binotto in 2025.
