SkySports F1 commentator Martin Brundle has critiqued Red Bull’s Sergio Perez for his lackluster run in the championship this season. Perez has been unable to triumph in a race since the 2023 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Sergio Perez‘s inconsistent form has been a worrying factor for the Milton-Keynes-based team since the previous season. The 34-year-old has scored only 17 points in the last six races, despite starting the campaign on a convincing note.
Martin Brundle has therefore claimed that the Mexican’s struggles might cost Red Bull the championship this year. The Milton-Keynes outfit faces stringent pressure from second-placed McLaren, who have been formidable on track.
And we know about the commerciality of Sergio, we know about the Mexican Grand Prix coming up, we know he’s a great foil, generally speaking, to Max, doesn’t bother Max and it helps Max to get on well, so all of that, but at the end of the day, he’s got to deliver, because it’s going to cost them the Constructors Championship.Martin Brundle spoke on the SkySports F1 podcast
The six-time Grand Prix winner has failed to deliver his worth after signing a new contract extension this season. Perez will now have to be compelled to score podiums and wins to support his team in the title race going forwards.
