Alpine’s current driver situation is under fire, especially after the incident in Monaco. Esteban Ocon has been warned by the team principal Bruno Famin about some stern actions. Hence, the 27-year-old currently runs the biggest risk of being ousted from the French team by the coming season. On the other hand, Mick Schumacher is very hopeful of a re-entry into Formula 1 by the coming season.

Esteban Ocon‘s massive collision with Pierre Gasly in Monaco struck an agitated reaction from the team. Bruno Famin claimed that the 27-year-old would face ‘serious consequences’ over the incident. Also, with Ocon’s expiring contract in the coming season, Mick Schumacher remains highly positive about his chances.

Mick Schumacher noted that he needed all the ‘dominoes’ to fall in his favor to join F1. Also, driving in F1 was his ‘goal and dream’. Additionally, with Schumacher’s stint with Alpine in WEC, the German has an extra chance of landing the seat. Hence, the 25-year-old highlighted that he just needed to perform well in his WEC duties and perform well as a reserve driver for Mercedes in F1.

My goal and my dream is to drive in Formula 1. That’s why we have to make sure that the dominoes now fall in my favour and that I hopefully end up with a seat. What I can do for that is simply give my best performance in the WEC and also in Formula 1.
Mick Schumacher said, as reported by Sky Germany.

Bruno Famin claims it would be a ‘mistake’ to ignore Mick Schumacher

Alpine’s team principal Bruno Famin believes in blunt honesty and doesn’t hold back his words. The 62-year-old mentioned that he was very happy with Mick Schumacher’s recent performances in WEC. Famin added that Schumacher was ‘very fast’. Apart from this, the Frenchman also claimed that driving in WEC required a consistently high level of team spirit.

I’m very happy with Mick. He’s super fast, but that’s not the main thing. In the WEC, you have to drive at a consistently high level and have a good team spirit.
Bruno Famin said, as per Sky Germany.

Additionally, Famin didn’t hold back while lauding the son of Michael Schumacher with further praises. The 62-year-old highlighted that he was extremely ‘impressed’ with Mick Schumacher. The reason for this was the youngster’s ability to adapt to endurance racing. Hence, the Frenchman concluded that Schumacher was definitely ‘on the list’ for Alpine and it would be a mistake to not consider him.

I’m very impressed with him because he has adapted his attitude to endurance racing from day one. He gets on very well with his team-mates. It would be a mistake not to have Mick on the list.
Bruno Famin concluded.

Hence, Mick Schumacher has an extremely promising chance of entering Formula 1 as early as the next season. The German driver needs to focus on his duties in the 2024 season to land a confirmed seat. Schumacher has been performing extremely well in WEC and will likely showcase a great comeback after his failed stint with Haas.
