The Miami GP has been on the Formula 1 calendar for two years and has proven to be a huge success. However, despite the massive crowds that the organizers have been able to pull in the last few years, they are looking to make a whole bunch of changes for the 2024 edition of the event.
The Miami GP has so far proven to be a grand event that has received massive applause from all over the world for several reasons. From the eye-catching glitz and glam to the interesting characteristics of the street circuit, Miami has found a special place in the hearts of fans all over the globe.
When it comes to what is in the pipeline for the 2024 edition of the race, Miami GP President Tyler Epp told Motorsport, “We have had conversations with the FIA and F1 about trying to get a little more rubber laid onto the race track prior to the F1 cars going out.” Moreover, while talking about the prospect of hosting a night race, he further added, “It’s very unlikely that we would do it for 2024, but we will continue to evaluate.“
While Epp has indicated that they are not very interested in hosting night races, he has made his interest known in Sprint events. He further said, “We’re always interested in the sprint race. But I will also tell you that quali is really valuable for us, right? Like we see a lot of value in the qualification experience in F1. But we’re here to support [F1] and if we have an opportunity to host a sprint race at some point, we welcome that.”

Miami GP to continue with its famous fake marina and beach club
While the Miami GP is looking to put a bit of rubber down at the track ahead of 2024, the organizers have also made it known that they will continue with their famous fake marina and beach club. While talking about the same, Epp said, “Sooner or later things have to evolve, but it doesn’t mean we completely depart. It doesn’t mean that all of a sudden there is no more beach, but it does mean that at some point.“
Tyler Epp has given a detailed note on what’s coming at the Miami GP for 2024, and considering everything, it seems the organizers are very serious about improving the whole three-day experience for the drivers, the teams, and also the die-hard fans of the sport. Moreover, they have kept their options open for bringing new things onboard from 2025 onwards.
The pinnacle of motor racing is very quickly becoming a huge phenomenon in the United States, and with the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix also set to take place later this year, Miami does not want to get left behind and is looking to step up its game as far as the overall experience is concerned.
