Formula One legend Michael Schumacher’s coveted Ferrari California up for auction

The Ferrari California put up on auction by Boutsen Classic had an absolutely esteemed owner: Michael Schumacher, former driver of the Maranello-based racing team and 7-time Formula One title holder.

The special supercar is up for sale, but the base price to purchase the car once owned by Kaiser Wilhelm II is currently unknown. This California has been classified as belonging to Schumacher over the last several years, with the former Ferrari driver using it as a personal automobile before having to sell it in 2021.

On his first career retirement in 2006, Schumacher individually contributed to the creation of this model, among many other things. The Ferrari California, chassis number 168913, classified as belonging to the seven-time F1 world champion and it is in pristine shape.

This California has only journeyed 15,000 kilometres and is presently in Switzerland.

The Ferrari California is powered by a 4.3-liter V8 engine taken from the F430, capable of providing 460 hp and ensuring noticeable efficiency, with a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h covered in 3.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 310 km/h. All of this is coupled with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmit, which makes its breakthrough in a Prancing Horse vehicle.

Another recent update for the Maranello lineup was the metal sunroof and coupé-convertible configuration. The name chosen then paid tribute to the legendary Ferrari 250 GT California, which was also referenced stylistically.
