Action sports legend Ken Block killed in a Snowmobile accident in Utah

Ken Block was one of those guys who didn’t even have an ounce of fear in them. His adventures activities always dropped everyone’s jaw. The 55 year old racer was a professional rally driver who raced with the Hoonigan Racing Division. Apart from that, the American driver was also the co-founder of DC shoes. While he fondly loved rallying, Ken also had a knack for skateboarding, snowboarding and motocross.
Ken Block was born on November 21, 1967. The American loved to excite fans with his over the top stunts. Ken has produced a series of Gymkhana videos that have racked up millions of views on Youtube. His most recent one was in Vegas when Ken took the Audi S1 Hoonitron for a spin and boy oh boy, it was surely a treat to watch him drift.
The news of Ken Block’s death had saddened motorsport fans all around the world. Being 55 years old, the driver still had a long life left to live. The Action sports legend passed away after getting into a horrific snowmobile accident. This happened on Monday in Utah as confirmed by the local authorities. This news was very unexpected and deeply saddening for the whole racing community.
Ken Block was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident
“It’s with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today,” a statement from Hoonigan says. “Ken was a visionary, a pioneer, and an icon. And most importantly, a father and a husband,” they said on their Instagram. The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office also confirmed Ken Block’s death in a Facebook update.
The driver was with a group but later travelled alone on his snowmobile. He further went down a steep slope where his snowmobile “upended, landing on top of him,” according to the police. This unfortunate incident happened sometime around 2 pm where he was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident. This was extremely sad to hear about.
Ken Block leave his wife (Lucy) and three children behind. It is without a doubt that the legendary driver lived life to the fullest and was up there grabbing every opportunity. When he wasn’t doing fun projects with Audi, he spend his days taking part in multiple winter sports. Having watched him since almost a decade, this is a tough piece of news to swallow.
