Alex Albon rumored to be in contact with two F1 teams about ending his Williams contract

Alex Albon returned to the F1 grid in 2022 with Williams. The British Thai driver made his mark at the Grove-based team in the past two seasons with some impressive results. The 27-year-old signed a long-term deal with the British team. However, it seems that rivals want to get Albon out of his contract in the coming months.
As per reports, Alex Albon was contacted by two teams last year to try and get him out of his Williams contract for 2024. However, the 27-year-old stayed put at the Grove-based team. Albon’s contract reportedly sees him race for Williams till 2025. Although, the British Thai driver might be looking to move elsewhere after the upcoming season.
The 2024 F1 driver market could see some big moves. Subsequently, many teams would be keeping an eye on Alex Albon who has become a major asset for Williams. The 27-year-old has mentioned that he would be willing to look at other opportunities on the grid once his contract with the Grove-based team comes to an end.

Alex Albon has brought a much-needed direction to Williams. The British Thai driver has the experience of racing for a top team like Red Bull in F1. Subsequently, the 27-year-old’s feedback played a major role at the Grove-based team in the past two seasons.
The addition of James Vowles further strengthened the British team. Vowles has praised Albon’s performance in 2023 after some impressive results. It is no surprise that the Williams boss has been vocal about wanting to retain the 27-year-old for the long term. As the Grove-based team continues to rebuild itself.
James Vowles understands that Williams would need to make major progress to secure Alex Albon. The 27-year-old would not want to stay at the back of the field during the prime years of his career. As such, it remains to be seen if the Grove-based outfit could convince Albon to extend his contract in the future.
