The AlphaTauri team acts as a B team for Red Bull. It is known for developing young talents prior to their promotion to the main team. This means the team is more used to rookies and youngsters populating their garage, rather than an experienced veteran like Ricciardo. Daniel Ricciardo was brought in to replace the Nyck de Vries in the middle of this season and has secured a seat on the team for 2024.

AlphaTauri’s Head of Trackside Engineering Jonathan Eddolls commented on the experience that the veteran has brought to the team. Eddolls said [as reported by speedcafe], “Pretty much straight away you could feel the quality of the feedback. He’s driven many different cars and experienced many different ends of the performance spectrum. Having that feedback on our car was extremely valuable for us.”

AlphaTauri seems extremely grateful for the Aussie’s presence in the team. Ricciardo will be lining up with Yuki Tsunoda for the team’s 2024 season and it will be interesting to see how close the team comes to the top with the help of the Veteran’s feedback. There are still speculations about Liam Lawson’s return, with some claiming that the youngster deserves a seat in 2024.

Scott McLaughlin wants Daniel Ricciardo back in the Red Bull first team

IndyCar driver Scott McLaughlin recently replied to a tweet asking him about his preferred Red Bull 2024 driver line-up. McLaughlin gave his opinion on this. Red Bull currently have 4 drivers gunning for 3 seats. Sergio Perez, Liam Lawson, Daniel Ricciardo, and Yuki Tsunoda. And McLaughlin just ditched Sergio Perez, who is currently capturing the seat beside Max Verstappen, in favor of the other three who are in line for that seat.

Scott McLaughlin chose his top three – Daniel Ricciardo, Lawson, and Tsunoda. Of his top three, he placed Ricciardo in Red Bull’s first team and the other two at AlphaTauri. The IndyCar racer must have taken Lawson’s display of brilliant pace in only his third Grand Prix at Singapore into account.

Red Bull, having revealed next year’s line-up for both their main team and B-team, AlphaTauri, might swap the four drivers around when the season begins. Red Bull are notoriously known to do just that. They had demoted Pierre Gasly from Red Bull to AlphaTauri after reviewing his performance for only a few races in the season. They also fired Nyck deVries from AlphaTauri since he failed to live up to Helmut Marko’s expectations. Now, it remains to be seen how Sergio Perez holds on to his seat by performing at par with his triple World Champion teammate.
