And Red Bull‘s sister team AlphaTauri has been one of the biggest sources of news as well as speculations in the recent couple of months because of all the changes that the team has undergone. Just after they ended their 2023 F1 season with an unimpressive 8th spot finish, AlphaTauri lost their Team Principal Franz Tost as the 67-year-old retired from his post. Ex-Ferrari frontman Laurent Mekies took up Tost’s seat and the Italian will debut as the Team Boss of the Faenza outfit in 2024.

Then came the news that AlphaTauri might have poached ex-Haas Technical Director Simone Resta. The Italian was previously attached with the American outfit where he had started work in 2021. But Resta is rumored to have run into some disagreement with Gene Haas which is said to have led to his resignation from Haas. And only yesterday, AlphaTauri again made the headlines as the admins of their official Twitter handle posted a cryptic update saying “B.RB”. This has led many fans to believe that RB are the initials of the team’s new name.

AkphaTauri to finally have a stable driver line-up in 2024 after three trial runs

In 2023, AlphaTauri had to hire a new racer in place of Pierre Gasly as the French driver finally left the Red Bull umbrella to take up a seat at Alpine. And that is when Max Verstappen’s close friend and FIA Formula 2 and Formula E winner Nyck deVries was summoned for a role as a regular Formula 1 racer beside Yuki Tsunoda. The Dutchman failed miserable at his new job, and was swiftly removed by Red Bull as former RBR racer Daniel Ricciardo was called upon as the replacement.
