Mick Schumacher, since making his debut at the pinnacle of motor racing, has had a roller coaster of a ride. From being seen as an exciting F1 prospect by Haas, to getting ousted by them in 2022, Schumacher has had quite a few ups and downs. He spent the 2023 campaign as Mercedes’s reserve driver but for 2024, he has got a drive with Alpine’s endurance team.
Mick Schumacher joined the pinnacle of motor racing in 2021 with Haas and had a decent rookie campaign. However, the very next year when Kevin Magnussen joined the team, Schumacher’s performance declined, and at the end of the campaign, Guenther Steiner made the tough decision to show him the exit door.
However, despite having faced quite a few challenges on his F1 journey so far, Alpine feels he has immense talent. Intermin boss, Bruno Famin recently shed light on Alpine’s decision to bring Schumacher on board its endurance team.
I’m convinced that in Formula 1, he is underestimated. Because I think he’s a very good driver, a very fast driver. Don’t forget he has been the Formula Two Champion and Formula Three champion.Bruno Famin said about Mick Schumacher’s Alpine venture, via LWOS.

Looking at the reaction of the Alpine boss, it is quite clear that he and the French team have no doubts regarding the 24-year-old’s racing ability. They firmly believe that the former Haas driver can do wonders for them in the well-renowned world endurance competition.
Mick Schumacher still wants to race in F1 at some point
While Mick Schumacher has a drive in the world endurance scene with Alpine for 2024, one of his main targets is still to secure a seat at the pinnacle of motor racing in the upcoming years. Moreover, it has also come to light that he will continue in his reserve driver role with Mercedes for next year.
As mentioned earlier, Schumacher is only 24 years old and has several years ahead of him. If he is somehow able to secure a racing seat in F1 in the upcoming years, then it will be extremely crucial for him to grab his opportunity with both hands, because they don’t come around very often.

With his world endurance gig for 2024, he has a good opportunity on his hands to showcase that he is still a fast driver and can perform under pressure. If Mick Schumacher is able to have a productive world endurance campaign, it will boost his chances of making an F1 comeback 10-folds.
