Alpine F1 team owner $350 million worth Ryan Reynolds to make a CAMEO in Netflix ‘Drive to Survive’
'Alpine' co-owner Ryan Reynolds has immense fame as a Hollywood artist already, but now, the entire F1 world will get to know him through his cameo in 'Drive to Survive'.
With the ambitious third installment in the Deadpool franchise coming up, Ryan Reynolds is currently the man of the hour as his fans cannot wait to see him on the screens once again. But very few of them could have guessed that Reynolds will grace their screens much before Deadpool 3 drops since he has made a surprise cameo in the hit Netflix docuseries ‘Drive to Survive’ which captures the lives of the F1 personnel in the paddocks during the Grands Prix.
In the latter part of 2023, Ryan Reynolds made the headlines in F1 world because he joined a few other celebrities to buy a 24% stake in the Alpine team. To announce the buyout, Reynolds even visited the Las Vegas GP and starred in an Alpine video with their racer Esteban Ocon. Besides being a shareholder in the Enstone outfit, Reynolds also owns the Wrexham football club.
In the ‘Drive to Survive’ season 6 trailer that has recently turned heads on YouTube, fans caught a glimpse of Ryan Reynolds in conversation with Ocon. At the Las Vegas GP, Ocon had even worn a Deadpool-themed helmet to honor Reynolds’ most famous Hollywood project. And in the trailer, the actor is seen smirking and saying “Finally” when Esteban Ocon breaks it to him that he will now get to star in ‘Drive to Survive’ because of him buying some stakes in Alpine.
Alpine will look to live up to McLaren’s standards after losing key personnel last year
2023 had not been Alpine’s year at all despite onboarding their new racer Pierre Gasly who performed almost at par with Esteban Ocon. The all-French squad finished sixth in the World Championship table as they were overcome by two of the middle-order teams, McLaren and Aston Martin. Thus, for the upcoming season, Alpine’s full focus is expected to be on how they can improve and match up to the speeds of the two leaders in the middle order so that they can grab the fourth spot on the World Constructors’ Championship table.
Butz in order to achieve their aspirations, Alpine will have to make sure they have a trustworthy employment situation. Last year, they suffered from what is considered to be an employment attrition as three of their most trusted employees left the team. It started with Team Boss Otmar Szafnauer exiting the French squad, followed by sports director Alan Permane and also Pat Fry, who was in charge of the car designs.
In other news, Alpine released a new clip showing their latest invention–the A524–in action. The Enstone outfit unveiled the new racecar on February 7, and the livery remained almost unchanged. But the car is apparently an aggressive take on the conventional Formula 1 racecar and it remains to be seen how Gasly and Ocon’s pairing fare with the new machine.
