The 2023 Mexican Grand Prix weekend is well underway, and Sergio Perez‘s dad, Antonio Perez, is finding it hard to stay out of the headlines. Alongside his son, the duo has dominated the media, and senior Perez has admitted that the Red Bull team adviser, Helmut Marko, is the best promoter his son could have in F1.
Perez and Marko have had their fair share of verbal tussles this year, where the latter has said some very hurtful things. Moreover, a point was reached this season where things could have gotten way out of hand had common sense not prevailed on the part of Marko.
While things have cooled off between the two recently, Antonio Perez while applauding Marko in Mexico City, made it known that while he accepts that Marko has a knack for pushing Sergio Perez, he ardently feels the Austrian does that for his son’s good. Senior Perez has nothing but respect for the 80-year-old veteran of the pinnacle of motor racing
Dr. Marko is the best, the best, the best promoter Checo could have in the whole world. He’s incredible. He’s a winner mentally, and he pushes Checo. I love that, and I love Dr Marko.
Perez said, as reported by Motorsports Total.com.
Sergio Perez needs a strong weekend in front-of-home support
While Antonio Perez has admitted that Helmut Marko is the best promoter Sergio Perez could have in F1, the latter needs to step up his game during the ongoing Mexican Grand Prix weekend. During the recently concluded quali session, he was outperformed by Daniel Ricciardo, who was in an AlphaTauri.
Perez is starting the upcoming main race from P5 on the grid, and considering the support that he has received so far at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, he needs to have a tremendous 71-lap-race. The 33-year-old would be eyeing a podium finish in front of his fans.
Lo dimos todo, muchas gracias por toda su entrega y apoyo.

In case he manages to end his exploits behind Ricciardo, it would be a body blow for him and the whole crowd that would be cheering him on during the Mexican Grand Prix. All eyes are on Perez leading up to the race, and it would be fascinating to see whether he would be able to deliver or not.
