Pedro De la Rosa
The Aston Martin F1 team has announced former F1 driver Pedro De la Rosa as their Team Ambassador. De la Rosa began his journey as an F1 driver in the year 1999 and was one of the 67 drivers to score a point on his debut race in F1. He has an impressive statistic of 104 Grand Prix starts with various teams such as Arrows, Jaguar, McLaren, Sauber and HRT.
He started his F1 career with the team Arrows and scored points on his debut race. Later in the year 2001, he moved to Jaguar, where he raced alongside Eddie Irvine. In the year 2003 he moved to McLaren with whom he stayed for a duration of 6 years, he first took over Juan Pablo Montoya’s seat when he was injured and ultimately ended up replacing him when Montoya left F1 to pursue a career in NASCAR.
De la Rosa scored his first and only podium with McLaren and later moved on to Sauber where his career was less than successful. He left the sport of F1 in 2014 and opened a driving school and ran a racing team called DriveX. This year Aston Martin announced that he will join them as their Team Ambassador.
