The current Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has been under fire since the allegations of inappropriate behavior came to light last week. The administrators at Red Bull had decided to hire a lawyer from the outside and conduct a proper investigation. As soon as the claims became public, Christian Horner refuted them.
Although the specifics of the accusations are yet to be publicly revealed, it is reported that the investigation is concerned with inappropriate and controlling behavior by Horner. Red Bull has taken these allegations made by a female employee very seriously and launched an investigation last Monday. Horner was called in for questioning on Friday which according to the insiders went on for around eight hours.
Former Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone, who is a close friend of the longest-serving F1 team boss is reportedly acting as a mediator between Red Bull and Horner. According to the latest reports from F1 Insider.com, Ecclestone asked his friend to step down from the position to protect his family and himself from future harm.
However, Christian Horner continues to refute every accusation. It has come to light that after his questioning on Friday, the results are still pending and the lawyer has gone on a vacation. Horner has been with the team since the first f1 grid in 2005, and it is known that Thai Red Bull shareholders still want him on the team.
Christian Horners’ future as Red Bull’s team principal in dark
Christian Horner is been accused of inappropriate and controlling behavior. While the private investigation has been launched, it will still take the end of next week, to have the final results out. The parent company of the energy drink, Red Bull Racing, based in Austria, has not disclosed the specifics of the complaint.
Sports insiders understand the hearing was held in London, not at the team’s Milton Keynes factory, but at an undisclosed location. These accusations have put the current team principals’ future in further darkness. Reports suggest that the Austrian shareholders of Red Bull want Horner out of the team.
With the season approaching, these accusations could cast a shadow over Red Bull’s defense in the first few races. Now, the waiting game begins to see if the issue is settled in any way before Red Bull launches their 2024 Formula One car at their Milton Keynes headquarters on February 15.
