The Monaco Grand Prix compensated for the long wait that the audience had to tolerate because of the FIA declaring it unsafe to race in such wet conditions. While the race started behind the safety car, and that dampened all the fans’ wishes of seeing the Red Bull racers take over their Ferrari rivals right at the start, Sergio Perez made sure they left the Circuit de Monaco with a smile pasted on their face as he went on to get the third Grand Prix victory of his career.
Red Bull has always been allegedly a bit partial towards Max Verstappen as the Dutchman has promised and delivered great results for the team. Even last week, in Barcelona, Perez was ordered by the team to make way for Max Verstappen although the Spaniard was running ahead of his teammate. And today, Sergio Perez had his moment of redemption as he flew to the finishing line with his RB-18 and won the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix.
Overjoyed with Sergio Perez’s first victory in Monaco, F1 Twitter exploded with gleeful fans commending Perez’s tyre management skills and his amazing defense against the repeated attacks of Carlos Sainz and his Ferrari F1-75.

It is quite common for the motorsport enthusiasts to draw a comparison between two teammates, especially when it is Red Bull. The Milton-Keynnes-based team has always been allegedly partial towards Max Verstappen, and it is said that it was this partiality that drove 2018 Monaco GP winner Daniel Ricciardo to leave for Renault in 2019.
Now that Sergio Perez has got a brilliant victory in the Monaco Street Circuit, F1 fans are claiming that he performed even better than reigning World Champion Max Verstappen.
