F1 has included the historic Brazilian GP at Interlagos since 1972. It has since been 51 years at the iconic Autódromo José Carlos Pace circuit and the track has some amazing history related to it.

F1 has now confirmed that the race will be held at Interlagos circuit for an additional seven years from now till 2030. The track is imperative to Formula 1 and the GP saw a total attendance of 235000 fans over the weekend. George Russell was the racer who also scored his maiden victory at the 2022 Brazilian GP.

This extension of Sao Paulo GP involves significant investment by the Sao Paulo Mayor Nunes’ administration. This administration has worked a lot in the favour of Formula 1 and its fans. The administration also helped provide 100 women from vulnerable backgrounds with job opportunities.

Under the leadership of MC Brazil Motorsport and backed by Mubadala, the Grand Prix continues to evolve, improving the areas around the track and hosting multiple functions at the spot, including musical concerts and other entertainment events. The F1 boss has also shown his appreciation for this renewal.

F1 boss Stefano Domenicali also commented on the contract extension

Stefano Domenicali, CEO and President of Formula 1 claimed that he was ‘delighted’ to announce the contract extension till 2030. Subsequently, the boss added that he couldn’t wait for the passion and atmosphere that the Brazilian fans bring to the Interlagos circuit.

The boss also talked about the rich cultural racing heritage at the Brazilian GP. The Italian also coined the Brazilian GP as one of the favorites for the drivers and fans around the world. Finally, Domenicali added that he looked forward to seeing the development at the Interlagos circuit over the years to come.

Ahead of the Brazilian GP, multiple team drivers have shown respect to the Brazilian culture and paid their condolences to the departed souls at the Interlagos circuit. The track has a lot of negative history combined with positive ones. This makes racing around the track a proud and bittersweet moment for the drivers.
