Canadian GP 2022: Charles Leclerc could possibly face 10-place grid PENALTY

Charles Leclerc last weekend bowed out of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with a DNF to his name and there are chances that the Monegasuqe’s troubles could further escalate if Ferrari is forced into changing the turbochargers on Leclerc’s F1-75.
Charles Leclerc so far in the season has already used three turbochargers on his car and if the team has no option but to change the turbocharger again, then there are very good chances that the 24-year-old will be given a 10-place grid penalty.
Even if Leclerc is able to secure the pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix he would only be able to start the race from 11th place at best.
Although, as per reports, Leclerc still has room for one replacement on the other parts of the F1-75 and it is going to be up to the team to decide what they are going to do with his car. All that the young driver can do at the moment is wait till a definitive call is made.

Charles Leclerc is P3 in the Drivers Championship

Charles Leclerc after Azerbaijan’s disappointment has slipped to P3 in the Drivers Championship and is now behind both the Red Bull drivers.
Max and Sergio were able to come away from Azerbaijan with a 1-2 finish and this has allowed Max to increase his lead and for Sergio to get ahead of Leclerc in the Drivers Championship.
Max after the Azerbaijan weekend is on 150 points whereas his teammate Sergio is on 129 points. Leclerc was not able to score any points in Baku and is still stuck on 116 points.

Charles Leclerc has now got an immensely tough job on his hands and it is not going to be a walk in the park for the Monegasque if he is to overtake the dynamic Red Bull pair.
The Canadian Grand Prix is slated to take place on the upcoming weekend and it is going to be fascinating to see if Leclerc would be able to close the gap to the top two contenders during the Canadian adventure.
