Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari F1 driver, will start Sunday’s main Grand Prix from second place on the grid. While he managed a decent run during Q3, the session was red-flagged after a short while, with rain hitting the circuit. The whole area around it went pitch dark because of the ominous weather.

Yesterday’s qualifying session began under normal conditions with a slight chance of rain. However, all the strategies and potential scenarios were thrown out of the window by Q3 when a huge wave-like cloud came over the tracks with no end in sight to it. It was as if a scene had been taken from a Harry Potter movie. Alongside Charles Leclerc, most of the F1 paddock was baffled seeing the peculiar weather.

It works well for us, in my whole career, I have never experienced something like that. At Turn 4... I mean there was no rain but the car was extremely difficult to drive, no grip, I was thinking about just coming in at the end of the lap but I finished and I was P2.
Leclerc said, as reported by racingnews365.

Looking at the reaction of the Monegasque, it is quite clear that while he was baffled by the weather, everything worked out well for him during the session. He was able to put in a stellar run during his first Q3 stint, and that proved to be enough as rain hit the track, and there was no running after it.

Charles Leclerc is targeting bumper points at Interlagos

While Charles Leclerc has admitted that Friday’s weather was something he has never experienced in his life, he is in a good position as far as the rest of the Brazilian weekend is concerned. He is starting the main race from P2 and, thus, will have a great opportunity of doing something special.

Moreover, points are also going to be on offer during the upcoming sessions, with Brazil being a Sprint weekend. Considering this, Leclerc has a golden opportunity to come away with a truckload of points from the ongoing weekend. The SF-23 has worked well so far and suited well to the Interlagos track characteristics.

Charles Leclerc has had a pretty up-and-down 2023 F1 season, where he has been hindered by one thing or the other. Brazil has so far proven kind to him, and keeping this in view, it will be fascinating to see how the remaining sessions will pan out for him at the Interlagos F1 circuit.
