Charles Leclerc adamant he did not lose his cool defending against Max Verstappen in France
Charles Leclerc
It was one of Charles Leclerc’s worst weekends back in France almost a week ago where the Ferrari driver spun on his own and went into the barriers causing him to DNF. This gave fellow title rival a sweet increment in the drivers championship standings. The Red Bull Racing driver further went on to win the race and grab a crucial 25 point lead to add to his tally in the championship.
Charles Leclerc has claimed that his race ending mistake wasn’t due to the pressure put on him by Max Verstappen . The #16 driver had led the race in the early stages despite Max Verstappen attacking him the whole time but spun out of the lead during Lap 18 of the French Grand Prix and thus ended his race prematurely. Charles Leclerc was screaming in anguish after crashing out as heard on his radio but now has said that he has moved on from this mistake and fully focused on getting the best result in Hungary.

“There’s nothing that will help me, dwelling on my mistake” : Charles Leclerc says to the media
“There’s nothing that will help me, dwelling on my mistake or staying in the past on that mistake. No, I did that mistake, it cost me lots of points, I’m aware of it, and that’s it.”
“Now, I just need to move on, focus 100 percent for this weekend, try to do the best possible, try to win this race, and then I’m sure it will go well,” he said.
Charles Leclerc is coming into the Hungarian GP weekend with a 63 point gap to title contender and reigning world champion Max Verstappen. The gap is the highest it has been all season and the Ferrari driver will be adamant to cave into the gap and lessen it this weekend.
