Charles Leclerc after Canada is in the third slot with 126 points to his name in the Driver’s Championship and the former Formula One driver Jean Alesi believes that Leclerc is right in not losing hope as the season is long and things can change at any moment.

Jean Alesi believes that the 2022 season is only 9 rounds down and there are still plenty more races to go where Leclerc can close the gap to Max Verstappen.

Ferrari has had quite a few reliability issues this season and this is one of the main reasons behind Leclerc tumbling down in the Drivers Championship. However, Alesi has urged the Monegasque driver to keep doing the right things and the results will follow.

While talking about Leclerc Alesi said, “Leclerc is right to show optimism. Such a tight championship puts pressure on the gearboxes, engines, hydraulics, everything. Technical problems will follow for every team.’

The Maranello-based team has a very quick car this season and Charles Leclerc has been terrific when it comes to putting his F1-75 in pole position during Qualifying, the Achilles heel at Ferrari has been the reliability of the car.

It has hampered the team in a significant way and given the team’s situation in both the Championships, the Italian team cannot afford any more DNFs.

Canada was a strong weekend for Ferrari and Alesi believes, “We are not even halfway through the championship yet. There is still plenty of time to recover, starting with the next round at Silverstone, a circuit that rejoices champions.”
