Austria-based racing team Red Bull will be looking to secure the win in Montreal for the very first time since 2019, but championship contenders Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc could set an unusual record with a probable pole position. 7-time F1 World Champion  Lewis Hamilton has won four of the last five races, with no Canadian Grand Prix scheduled for 2020 or 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Reigning F1 World Champion Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez will be preoccupied with more than just the win as they stare to enhance their standings at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Verstappen continues to lead second-place Perez by 34 points, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc third.

Charles Leclerc is his own person

“No and I don’t think he envies anything of me either. We are two different drivers. I focus on myself to be the best version of me, I’ll never be someone else. I’m happy with my development and will continue to evolve,” said Leclerc in response on being asked if he’s envious of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen who’s had a more reliable stint in Red Bull’s RB18 compared to his own stint in the F1-75.
Earlier on in this season, Leclerc had described his relationship shared with his chief competitor from the karting days: “I treat every rival that I have differently. The more you know them, the more you know what their weaknesses are and what their strengths are and you try to adapt to every driver, so yes I do. But it is very different to the fight we had in karting.”

This weekend will prove to be particularly extremely crucial for the Monacan driver to hopefully make a turnaround this season if he wants to keep his hopes of winning the title race alive.
