The 2024 season opener race in Bahrain had a decent finish for Ferrari. The drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc scored a three-four finish respectively. However, Leclerc’s car had multiple issues with braking as displayed throughout the race. Regardless of the first race challenges, team principal Fred Vasseur has now showcased his input in the team after Mattia Binotto‘s exit before the 2023 season commenced.
Vasseur’s involvement with the team helped Maranello score a great start to the season. Leclerc recently signed a multi-year deal with Ferrari beyond the end of the 2024 season. Hence, the Monegasque mentioned that he had a great relationship with the team principal. Additionally, the 26-year-old added that the two were very open in the way they wanted to approach the ‘new way of working’.
And obviously, I have a very good relationship with Fred, and we've always been very open in the way he wanted to confirm things and the way we wanted to approach this new way of working.Leclerc said, as reported by racingnews365.com.

Additionally, Leclerc added that he was fully on board with whatever plans the Frenchman had for the team in the future. Apart from this, the 26-year-old talked about his love for the Italian constructor and how Vasseur was an integral part of the entire discussion. Hence, Leclerc believes that the team is heading in the right direction under the 55-year-old’s guidance.
I'm fully aligned with the vision that Fred has for the team medium to long-term, and he has also been part of my discussions when I opted to renew my contract. As much as I'm in love with Ferrari and I think everybody knows that, it was important for me to be signing in a team that I trust and that definitely was the case.
Charles Leclerc believes in Fred Vasseur’s leadership at Ferrari
Fred Vasseur’s 2023 campaign wasn’t very successful with the team scoring a P3 finish in the constructors’ championship. However, Leclerc mentioned he was surprised with how fast Vasseur brought about changes to Maranello. The 26-year-old added how Ferrari was a team with the most amount of history in the sport. Hence, bringing major changes to how the team worked was a big deal for the driver.

Additionally, the Monegasque asserted how things have been the same way for the past 15-20 years. Apart from this, Leclerc added that Vasseur joined the team and very quickly put his vision into the team and led it to score great results. The team principal has clear ideas leading the team into the 2024 season, according to Charles Leclerc.
Ferrari has a history of scoring mistakes down the season and sabotaging their results. However, if the team continues on the same trajectory as they showcased in Bahrain, Ferrari could bring great results. Maranello will showcase great racing action and give Mercedes a tough challenge for the second spot in the constructor’s championship.
