The Ferrari Formula 1 team has a rich history at the pinnacle of motor racing. The outfit has been competing in the sport since 1950 and has over the years amassed massive glory. While they are a top team, Christian Horner believes they operate under massive pressure because of the ruthless Italian media.

Ferrari last won an F1 world championship in 2007 when Kimi Raikkonen was leading their charge. Since then, it has been a struggle for them and there have been occasions, where the outfit has been massively bashed by the Italian fans and also the highly involved Tifosi fanbase.

Ferrari is a different kind of team, a national team. That comes with pressure and the Italian media are absolutely ruthless and are watching every move closely. The expectations are enormous.

Looking at the reaction of the 50-year-old, it is quite clear that the Maranello-based team is seen as a huge thing by the Italian media and this is something, that makes the Italian fans highly involved with the day-to-day activities of the team during an F1 season.

Would Ferrari be able to challenge Red Bull in 2024?

While Christian Horner has deemed Ferrari as nothing short of a national team, the Italian outfit has high expectations riding on them for the upcoming 2024 F1 season. In 2022, Charles Leclerc and Co. took the fight to Red Bull but their charge ran out of steam by the start of the second leg.

The 2023 campaign was a year to forget for them as despite their best efforts, the Fred Vasseur-led team was only able to manage a third-place finish in the Constructors Championship. They missed out on the runner-up slot by only a margin of six points.

Keeping in view everything that has been discussed above, the upcoming season of the pinnacle of motor racing is going to be a fascinating watch from the point of view of the Ferrari Formula 1 team. The Italian media outlets will keep their keen eyes glued on the team’s exploits throughout the campaign.
