In the continuation of the drama at Red Bull, involving the team’s advisor Helmut Marko‘s exit, the team principal Christian Horner is allegedly making statements about Marko not having the support of the management from Red Bull. He believes the new management after Dietrich Mateschitz doesn’t think the Austrian is still very much needed in his position.
According to insiders, the reason behind this conflict is regarding the sale of Red Bull’s sister team – AlphaTauri. Reports suggest that Horner wanted to gain control over the sister team and make it profitable again to sell it for a higher price. However, this wasn’t possible during Mateschitz’s administration, as his dying wish was not to sell the team.
Horner has publicly said there’s no problem between him and the 80-year-old Austrian. As F1insider.com reports, Horner is constantly leaking stories about the management wanting to remove Marko from his position. However, Marko thinks positively about the situation and is confident that he’d decide his tenure at the team and not someone like Horner.
Horner’s constant attempts to gain control over the Red Bull sister team are being ousted by the team’s external advisor. He believes the top management has no confidence in the Austrian and can decide on his further inclusion at the United States GP in Austin. Red Bull’s new CEO of corporate projects, Oliver Mintzlaff, will be present at the US GP with the team this weekend.

Helmut Marko’s new statements about the rumors
Currently, no one at Red Bull is willing to make a strong statement about the rumor. However, in Marko’s recent interview with F1insider, he was found saying, “There has been a lot of speculation in the press recently that shouldn’t be taken seriously. We should all keep calm now and think about our core business.”
Marko further said these rumors are baseless, and the only topic of discussion at Red Bull is how to make Perez achieve P2 in the Drivers’ Championship. Max Verstappen and Red Bull have already packed the Drivers’ and Constructor’s Championship recently.
Verstappen said, “If Marko had to go, I would be gone too,” about the Marko/Horner situation. He also said earlier that he’d rather see Horner leave the organization than Marko, as reported by F1insider.
