Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo has been omnipresent on the F1 grid for a long time now. The 34-year-old has been victorious in races on eight different occasions. However, Ricciardo opens up about potentially winning the ninth race in the sport after making a surprise return this year.
Ricciardo recalled the great results at the Mexican GP and claimed that he felt everything he needed to feel again from the comeback. The Aussie highlighted how everyone in the crew rejoiced upon scoring the crucial points at the Mexican circuit. Moreover, the P4 finish felt like pole position to Ricciardo due to the AlphaTauri’s lackluster this season.
A weekend like Mexico, that's a weekend where I felt everything I needed to feel again, The team was very happy, and those things help kind of everything moving forward. To put the car in a position where people don't expect to see that car, excites you. And the fourth [in Mexico] felt like a pole, because it felt like the AlphaTauri this year had no [right] to be on the second row of the grid.Ricciardo said, as reported by f1i.com.

However, Ricciardo did not fixate on the thought of winning another race in his career, as his happiness was not dictated by winning races. Regardless, winning an additional race in the career would be a great bonus for the Australian as he added that it would be nice to win another race.
But as much as I want to win again, it's really because I believe I can. But I'm not going to dictate this second phase of my career just on that; dictate my happiness, dictate how I classify success in this second phase. To win again would be a bonus [but] I feel like I'm not carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders, and it's kind of nice.
Daniel Ricciardo felt reborn down the season
Ricciardo still had to sit out from five consecutive races in an attempt to heal from a wrist injury that he suffered at the Dutch GP. Regardless, the entire season was a season filled with positives for the Honey Badger. As the 34-year-old seemed to be rejuvenated after two dismal seasons at McLaren.

Sitting out of races due to the hand injury was not a setback for Ricciardo. The Honey Badger highlighted that he wanted to get back into the cockpit as soon as possible. The Australian driver never doubted himself despite fans’ questions about his future in F1. Moreover, Ricciardo has always been motivated to push further and maximize results during the race.
As Ricciardo has been locked with AlphaTauri for the next season, the 34-year-old aims to improve the development of the Faenza in 2024. The crucial updates about the machinery from Daniel Ricciardo are imperative to the team for developing the car down the season. Fans would be looking forward to seeing how the 34-year-old performs next season.
