The higher ups at Red Bull have finally made a decision and it’s looking good for Daniel Ricciardo. On the other hand, it’s an absolute bummer for Nyck De Vries. The 2023 F1 season was the Dutchman’s debut season in the pinnacle of motorsport after overcoming many hurdles to get to this point. Sadly, his F1 journey comes to an end after a disappointing stint with AlphaTauri.

The Dutchman will be replaced by Daniel Ricciardo effective immediately as the Honey Badger slides his way back onto the F1 grid. Red Bull is absolutely brutal when it comes to its drivers and its a make or break scenario always. In this case, it seems pretty clear that De Vries couldn’t do the needful to save his season or his seat. A lot of individuals in the paddock thought that Nyck would succeed in the sport but it doesn’t seem to have gone as planned.

Viaplay commentator Allard Kalff who is in close contact with Nyck De Vries’s family has made the revelation. Official confirmation of Daniel Ricciardo being his successor will be done later today. Dr Helmut Marko and the higher ups at Red Bull seem to have finally taken a harsh stand on his future with the team. Once a promising aspect has now turned into the team’s biggest failures.

Seychelle De Vries, Nyck’s sister also went on to show her support towards her brother as she posted a story with “Always got your back” as the caption. AlphaTauri hasn’t given any confirmed yet about the situation. Apart from the Dutch Media, many other sources have confirmed that Daniel Ricciardo will replace Nyck de Vries at Alpha Tauri with immediate effect. This has further gone on to create more drama in the F1 paddock. 

Nyck De Vries’s performance in Monza with Williams was one of the key reasons behind Red Bull hiring him with Max Verstappen being the mediator. However, after 11 race starts, it was clear that the Dutchman was not able to live up to his full potential. On the other hand, even Sergio Perez’s seat seems to be under threat at Red Bull. While Christian Horner and Helmut Marko have shown their support, it’s Red Bull in the end and their decisions are always brutal.
